History[]

'Gremlin' was built by Capalaba Rover Crew in 2013 in preparation for the return of Banana Bash 2013. It was originally white, but was changed to its current colour of lime green in 2015. It has competed at every Banana Bash event since its reboot, and won the sedan class in 2014.

After 2022 the engine seized due to a head gasket leak between Cyl 2-3-4 where cyl 2&3 became full of water. Gremlin was rebuilt in just over a month with an engine swap to a 'new' 4K-C, rewire and new mud tyres. This was an attempt to curb the overheating issues and power problems (mainly the overheating). The engine swap did kind of help. The car competed in most events but still suffered from overheating issues and had a few electrical gremlins that were solved with a new starter motor and a bit of fiddling with connection points. The car ultimately suffered a suspected clutch failure on the Sunday during Gymkana. The car was winched onto the trailer with rachet straps...

The plan is to auto swap it with the automatic transmission that was bought with the engine. Add lift in the form of spacers to limit the rubbing problem that was introduced with the new mud tyres.
